Bio:
Irina Ramos is an Associate Director in Bioprocess Technologies & Engineering group at AstraZeneca. She leads the downstream activities and innovation related to the development and implementation of Next Generation Manufacturing (same as continuous processing) for Biologics at AstraZeneca. In 12+ years of experience in downstream process development, Irina has worked from Early and Late stage process development, process scalability, CMC, technology transfer and process validation. For the last 5 years she has been teaching a graduate level class on Principles of Downstream Processing. Irina completed her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Porto (Portugal) and her PhD degree in Chemical & Biochemical Engineering from UMBC (USA). She is passionate about mentorship and developing resources to improve the communication of science.
