Bio:
Dan Griffin is a Principal Engineer at Amgen in the Pivotal and Commercial Process Development Group for Synthetic Drug Substance. Prior to joining Amgen in 2016, Dan earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, where he conducted research on salt crystallization from nuclear waste and became interested in combining rapidly advancing automation and PAT with learning algorithms to understand and control complex processes. At Amgen, Dan has acted as the lead engineer on the drug substance process development and commercial manufacturing tech transfer team for sotorasib (LUMAKRASTM). And, has led a number of initiatives within the Synthetics Process Development Engineering group, including establishing a high-throughput and data analysis lab and, more recently, advancing continuous manufacturing.
